Unusual trade road - Generator made in China

February 09 - Accompanied by a 294 mtons Gas Turbine, a 374 mtons Generator was shipped from

Xingang, China to the Dutch port of Rotterdam.  In under deck stowage on SAL’s Heavy Lift vessel ”Lena” the units

arrived in the Netherlands end of Dec 2008 safely and in good condition.

 

Although usually Generators are being exported from Europe to the Far East, this time both Heavy Lifts were

ordered by ALSTOM in China for European job sites.

COLI Hamburg, as booking agent to SAL, fixed the charter party on behalf of the Swiss Broker Furness Shipping.

In Rotterdam the cargo was directly transferred onto barges for the onward journey. COLI Rotterdam took over

the local port agency.
